The Contrast Brass Quintet comprises graduates of the Academy of Music in Ljubljana. The members of the band gathered for the first time in 2012 and since then they regularly perform concerts on many stages in Slovenia such as the Festival Lent, Festival Ljubljana, Imago Sloveniae, Glasbena Mladina Slovenije and abroad in Germany, Italy, Croatia, Czech Republic, Oman, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Their repertoire includes compositions from the renaissance through music of the 20th century and more contemporary works. The quintet won a gold plaque and first prize at the TEMSIG 2013 Young Slovenian Musicians Competition, and became the absolute winner in the chamber ensemble category at the 2014 Svirel International Ccompetition. They also won the first prize at the Giovani Musicisti International Competition in Treviso. Their biggest success is first prize at the Jan Koetsier International Brass Competition in Munich (2014), where they also received a recording for Bavarian Radio.
