Jeju International Brass Competition has taken place in Jeju, the island of the wind embracing nature. Jeju competition is to discover and foster young, talented wind instrumentalists around the world and give them an opportunity to share friendship and culture exchange with one another. Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival Organizing Committee, organizer of Jeju International Brass Competition, became a member of WFIMC (World Federation of International Music Competitions) since 2009, which is held in August every year. In the even years, bass trombone, euphonium, tuba and percussion are contested. In odd years, trumpet, horn, tenor trombone, and brass quintet section take place. In addition, the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival will be open at the same period as the Jeju International Wind Ensemble Competition, including various program such as the wind ensemble, the professional wind ensemble, and varied wind musical performances.
Participants of the competition will build friendships through their stay at competition dormitories during the competition period. The ten-day camp experience will give them a chance to make musically like-minded friends. This experience will become an important opportunity for them to create and develop relationships with wind musicians from different countries around the world.
